here we go !!!
I'll do my best to write in english once in a while...
We are on our way,finally !!
There were a lot of things to finish on the truck,and it allways get late : every time I started something, something else went wrong and would delay us once more. I can't say for sure if it was my influence on things that provocate this situation,or if it was just a concurs of circonstances... It was a hard time for me to leave "la corconne" and I had a lot of pressure from Maria to leave the Cevennes,and start this trip.
This was not the case of the girls , who wanted to stay longer at each friends we visited since our departure ...
We are now in Germany,at my (our) friend Dirk,since almost a week.
The trip started on a stressy day for me,and for the girls and Maria by consequence :
every thing had to be ready on this day,and we had to leave at a precise time in order to pick up our last load of medications in Quissac,some 50 Km away from where we stood at that time.
Where we stood was a little paradise for a family like us,on the move,but not quite moving yet : a piece of ground at very good friends,just 20 m from their house,grass on the earth for the girls and Daisy to run,and for the "bricoleur"to lye on when he'll be under the truck, a little swimming pool to fresh up after a sweaty working day for one,and a long resting day for the othrers, le Vigan not far for shopping, electricity to work , and some nice and long evenings in such a good company.
So, this first day was a tought one,and , of course , we didn't finish in time and get too late for the farmacy. That's where our individual habilities came to our help : Maria cooled down the stress and anger by proposing to stay around that village for one day and rest ,and my "sixth sens "brouht us to the perfect spot : a quiet place near a little river,with big trees to shade "Tartaruga",and even some fishes to catch for dinner !!! so, here we stayed for a day,resting,fishing,reading,talking with the two families that came for the afternoon to swim .
On the next day,we got our last anti-paludism medications + a good load of essential oils for various purposes and we hit the way direction Aix en provence , to some friends we had not seen for a while and to whom we brought some things that we couldn't take with us . 3 and 1/2 hours of road instead of 2 hours by car told us that we still had to get used to "Tartaruga's" rythm.We spent a nice day with them,and in the evening,something told me that it was better to leave now than in the morning. Difficult to explain why when i had no logical reason to end up such a nice evening .
So we drove,3 hours,until 1 in the morning,and slept on a windy field between wine plantations .As day broke,it flashed in my head that I had not made my international driving licence... luckily,we where not too far from Nimes which is the place where it is delivered !!
In the morning,more 30 Km to Montpellier,to that shop where we had material to pick up and to bring back,and then,quickly to Nimes. The Prefecture is in a tinny street and Maria had to get in while I looked for a miraculous parking place,which I couldn't find,and parked almost in front of the police station.Of course,the driving licences service was closed for the summer,and it took a while,some fotocopies and a good deal of patience,but the papers are on them way and we'll get that silly driving licence sended to Portugal,since it takes 2 weeks to be done...
